Domain Names: Submitting a Change of Administrative Contact

Q. I already have a domain name registered with the InterNIC. How do I
request a change of Administrative Contact for the domain name?

A. When we are requested to apply for a change of Administrative Contact
for a domain, here's what the InterNIC, the registering authority for
domain names in the .com and .net (and other domains) requires to
effect a domain name modification involving a change of Administrative
    Contact:

    1. The existing Administrative Contact for the domain name must send
an e-mail message requesting that his name be removed and the new
person's name be inserted as the Administative Contact for the
domain. The text of the message should include the following
        language:

"As Administrative Contact for domainname.com, I hereby
authorize Northwest Nexus Inc. to apply for a change of
Administrative Contact, replacing my name with xxxxxxxx,
         xxxxxcompany, effective dd mmm 1996."

            Signed,

            xxxxxxxxx
            Administrative Contact

            Organization Name: xxxxxcompany
            Net Mailbox: name@domainname.com

The electronic mail message should be sent to:

             support@halcyon.com

        ...with the subject line:

Domain name change of Administrative Contact: xxxx.yyy

    2. We will include your entire intact message in our Modification
request to change the InterNIC database contact information for
        the domain name.
