UNIX:  Learning about its crytic commands


Q.  How do I learn about those weird-looking UNIX commands?

A.  At the shell prompt, type:

         man commandname

    Sometimes, you need to try:

         localman commandname

    Also useful is:

         apropos commandname

    Can it get any more intuitive than that? :)
