___________________________________________________________________________ Files: Why does "diskuse" show files after I've deleted everything? Q. I have cleaned up all my files, yet "diskuse" shows over 4K of disk space used. Where are these files? A. At the shell prompt, try typing: ls -la You'll see *all* of the files in your directory. The files with a period (.) at the beginning of their names are hidden files, and don't show up when you use the ls command without the -a option. These files all do important things, like initialize your environment, keep track of which newsgroups you read, and configure your mail program. It's not a good idea to delete any of them without knowing exactly what you're doing.
